lifesaving excellence award

At Surf Life Saving Queensland, we know our lifesavers and lifeguards go above and beyond—not just on the beach but out in the community too. We want to recognise and celebrate those incredible acts of bravery, leadership, and lifesaving excellence, no matter where they happen.

That’s why we’re calling for nominations for the Lifesaving Excellence Awards!

Award Categories

Nominate someone who has performed or demonstrated one or more of the following:

  • Outstanding Rescue: The Jack Dearlove MBE Medal

  • Outstanding Resuscitation: The Professor Tess Cramond AO, OBE Medal

  • Leadership: The Jack McMasters Medal

A Few Things to Remember

  • Nominees do not have to be members of a Surf Life Saving Queensland club.

  • The incident doesn’t have to happen on the beach or even involve water. Lifesavers can make a difference anywhere—from a shopping centre to a community event.

  • You can choose to put the same incident forward for an SLSA Meritorious Award or an SLSQ Bravery Award.
