Supervision of Children

Surf lifesavers and lifeguards play a key role along the coastline, watching over and protecting beachgoers. However, it’s also important for parents to play an active role in safeguarding their children.

Young children require constant attention and supervision while nearby any body of water, including the ocean. A lack of direct adult supervision could have significant, and potentially fatal, consequences.

Most incidents involving young children at the beach occur because their parents’ attention is somewhere else. You should always be within arms’ reach of your child while at the beach.
