SLSQ Board Subcommittees, Standing Committees & Panels: Season 2025/2026

Nominations are invited for the following honorary SLSQ Board Subcommittees, Standing Committees/ Panel positions.

Section 6.2 (a) Board Committee Members

Unless otherwise prescribed or determined by the Board, committee Members shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years and may be eligible for re-appointment to the committee at the end of their term as a committee Member.

Section 7.3 (C) Standing Committee Tenure

Officers and their deputies should be appointed in alternate years along with half of the Committee members of each Standing committee.

Section 8.1 (d) iv. Panel Tenure

Panel Members must be endorsed annually by the Board.

Branch Directors of Lifesaving/Sport/ Junior Activities Appointment Form

Nominations must:

  • Be submitted on the prescribed form
  • Include a resume with relevant experience and qualifications to the position.
  • Provide two referees, who have worked within SLSQ with the nominee, to be contacted for a brief reference check. Please note, the reference checks must not be SLSQ staff.
  • Be endorsed by the Nominee’s Club and Branch, which will be done via SLSQ once nominations close.
  • Proposer and Seconders Name and Email must be provided (SLSQ will check with them that they are happy to endorse this nomination).

 

Nominations close at Surf Life Saving Queensland Monday 30th June 2025.

Nominations will be presented to the SLSQ Board for review and endorsement on Wednesday 30th July 2025.

Should there be multiple nominations, the responsible manager will work with the Nominations Committee, on behalf of the Board, to gather and present supporting information for all nominations.

PREREQUISITES

All Committee members must uphold the following as per Section 7.2 (a) Nominations and Appointment:

  • Hold a current Blue Card or Exemption Notice issued by the Blue Card Services and completed all other child safety requirements.
  • Be a current Member of SLSQ.

Panel members must:

  • Must hold a current Working with Children Blue Card or Exemption Notice.
  • Must hold the SLSQ Child Safe Awareness Induction
  • Must be over 18 years of age

It is strongly recommended that prospective nominees carefully read the job descriptions contained in the section 6, 7 and 8 of the FINAL 2025 SLSQ REGULATIONS. Below is a short precis of requirements:

Members are asked to access the nomination form by following the link SLSQ Committee & Panel Nominations 2025.

Please note that once submitted, there will be an automated email sent to your club seeking endorsement via your Club. SLSQ will seek endorsement from your Branch president on your behalf. SLSQ reserves the right to confirm that the Proposer and Seconder are supportive of the nomination.
