Nominations are invited for the following honorary SLSQ Board Subcommittees, Standing Committees/ Panel positions for the 2024/2025 season.
Section7.3 (C) Standing Committee Tenure
Officers and their deputies should be appointed in alternate years along with half of the Committee members of each Standing committee.
Section 8.1 (d) ii. Panel Tenure
Panel members must be endorsed annually by the Board.
BRANCHES PLEASE NOTE: We require your directors of Life Saving, Sport etc who are included in compositions for Committees and/or Panels to completed the form below to ensure the SLSQ pre-requisites checks are completed on all nominees.
Nominations must:
- Be submitted on the prescribed form (link on page 5)
- Nominees will be contacted to ensure they consent to their nomination
- Proposer and Seconders Name and Email must be provided (we will check with them that they are happy to endorse this nomination)
- Nominations must also be endorsed by the Nominee’s Club and Branch. This will be done via SLSQ once nominations close (via email direct to Club and Branch Presidents)
- Include a resume with relevant experience and qualifications to the position
- Provide two referees, who have worked within SLSQ with the nominee, to be contacted for a brief reference check. Please note, the reference checks must not be SLSQ staff.

Nominations will be presented to the SLSQ Board for review and endorsement on Wednesday 28th August 2024
Should there be multiple nominations, the responsible manager will work with the committee, on behalf of the Board, to gather and present supporting information for all nominations, and the committee’s recommendation of preferred nominee. |
PREREQUISITES
All Committee and Panel members must
- be a current member of a Surf Life Saving Club or Branch within Queensland
- Must hold a current Working with Children Blue Card or Exemption Notice.
- Must hold the SLSQ CYRM Induction and SLSQ Child Safe Awareness Induction
- Must be over 18 years of age
RESPONSIBILITIES
It is strongly recommended that prospective nominees carefully read the job descriptions contained in the section 6, 7 and 8 of the FINAL 2024 SLSQ REGULATIONS. Below is a short precis of requirements:

| Meritorious and Annual Awards Selection Panel | Independent panel members selected from the SLSQ membership | 2 |
| Surf Sports IRB Competition Panel | Panel members with demonstrated knowledge and experience of IRBs and associated equipment, training, operation and maintenance for competition. | 4 |
| Surf Sports Officials Advisory Panel | Demonstrated knowledge and experience in fundraising, three (3) representing each of the southern branches (PDB, SCB and SSCB) and one (1) representing the northern branches (WBCB, NBB and NQB); and | 4 |

Please note that once submitted, there will be an automated email sent to your club seeking endorsement via your Club. SLSQ will seek endorsement from your Branch president on your behalf. SLSQ reserves the right to confirm that the Proposer and Seconder are supportive of the nomination.
