INFLATABLE RESCUE BOAT

What is it?

The inflatable rescue boat (IRB) is a vital piece of surf life saving equipment, requiring two people to operate. As the driver you are responsible for safely and efficiently negotiating the surf while driving the IRB and communicating effectively with the crew member to ensure the safe operation of the craft, the safety of your crew and patient/s. A crew Member, you help steer the boat, keep it balanced, and do most of the rescue work. Their job is to support the IRB driver and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Why do it?

It’s adrenaline, teamwork, and lifesaving all rolled into one unforgettable role—why watch from the beach when you can be in the thick of it?

RESCUE WATERCRAFT (JETSKI)

What is it?

The Rescue Water Craft Operator or RWC (jetski) service works closely with on-beach lifesavers to conduct roving patrols, surveillance and rescue missions along the coastline. As an RWC operator, you will use your training and skills to manage and operate this vital piece of lifesaving equipment to watch over and protect beachgoers.

Why do it?

You’ll be out on the jetski responding to emergencies, covering huge areas of coastline, and playing a key role in high-level rescues—all while building serious skills and having a blast on the water.
