Successful trophy defence for Mooloolaba Masters

Mooloolaba have defended the Queensland Masters Surf Life Saving Championship, topping the overall pointscore at the conclusion of events on Saturday.

The 2024 champions (341pts) finished 82 points clear of fellow Sunshine Coast club Alexandra Headland (259pts) and leading Gold Coast club Kurrawa (251pts).

Kurrawa scored the most wins of any club with 22 gold medals, while Mooloolaba finished on the podium 56 times.

Elliott Heads were the best-performing regional club in 19th place overall, ahead of some of the more fancied south-east Queensland clubs.

The club scored a win and six podiums to finish ahead of fellow Wide Bay Capricorn clubs Tannum Sands (22nd), Bundaberg (24th) and Emu Park (26th).
