State Officers Appointed 2023/2024

Surf Life Saving Queensland is pleased to announce this year’s appointments for the State Operations Committees for the 2023/2024 season.

Leading the committees will be experienced lifesavers appointed to the role of State Officer in four key areas; Simon Richards (Lifesaving), Tonya Pade (Education), Kirsten Phillips (Membership Services) and Nigel Ward (Surf Sports).

Each volunteer State Officer will oversee their area of expertise offering valued advice, along with their expertise committees, to ensure the SLSQ Strategic Plan is successfully executed across the organisation.

Lifesaving Officer – Simon Richards

Simon’s unwavering dedication to lifesaving and safety is unmatched. As the Lifesaving Officer, Simon will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing lifesaving operations, ensuring that Queensland beaches remain safe for all who visit them.

 

Education Officer – Tonya Pade

Tonya brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role of Education Officer. With her passion for training and development, she is committed to ensuring our members receive the highest quality education, equipping them with the skills they need to save lives on Queensland beaches.

 

Membership Services Officer – Kirsten Phillips

Drawing on 38 years of experience as a volunteer surf lifesaver, Kirsten is focused on membership growth, leadership development and creating a community where members feel valued and connected.

 

Surf Sports Officer – Nigel Ward

Nigel has extensive knowledge through all avenues of Lifesaving and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge coupled with his passion for Surf Sports. As Surf Sports Officer, he will drive excellence in our surf sports, fostering a culture of teamwork, competition, and achievement.
