The As One Framework was created help guide Surf Life Saving Queensland on a journey of recognition, acknowledgement and inclusion. Our Vision is to see a strong and proud representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culture and history valued and celebrated as part of the Surf Life Saving movement in Queensland.  SLSQ’s DEI strategy identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as a priority group, and by adopting the As One Framework, SLSQ has developed strategies and initiatives to help us realise this positive change.

We recognise the valuable opportunities for growth and learning through increased membership and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our organisation, and the significant impact of their contributions.  We will stand with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to improve outcomes based on their needs, whilst building stronger and more inclusive clubs with improved cultural capabilities.

Our actions are not just deliverable but measurable, and they will be achieved through listening, engagement, partnerships, collaboration and development of a shared understanding.
