When assessing EOIs, the SLSQ Board will consider the following:
- Relevance of your current role
You should be an active and engaged member of the SLSQ Board, State Council, or a State Committee, with a demonstrated understanding of the organisation’s strategic goals and operational priorities.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in water safety, policy, innovation, or drowning prevention
This could include involvement in related projects or initiatives, professional or academic experience, or a demonstrated passion for improving outcomes in this space at Club, Branch, State or national level.
- Ability to apply and share learnings
A clear outline of how you will bring insights from the conference back into your role—whether through local initiatives, presentations, reporting back to State Committees or contributing to future planning and policy development.
- Strategic influence and leadership potential
We’re seeking individuals who can use the knowledge gained to inform strategic direction, influence peers, and advocate for innovation and evidence-based best practice in lifesaving across Queensland.
- Commitment to collaboration and knowledge transfer
Successful applicants should be willing to share their learnings beyond their own area—through formal or informal channels—and help build capability within the organisation as a whole.
- Professionalism and representation
As an international representative of SLSQ and the broader Australian lifesaving movement, a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and respect is expected. Applicants should be confident in representing SLSQ in a global context and contributing meaningfully to discussions.
