TRAINER
What is it?
Surf Life Saving trainers play a vital role in developing the skills and knowledge of our members. As a trainer, you’ll guide participants through their learning journey using the latest Surf Lifesaving Delivery and Assessment Guides, ensuring they gain the confidence and competence needed for their roles.
Why do it?
Becoming a lifesaving trainer is a rewarding opportunity to give back to your club and community by passing on vital rescue skills, building confidence in others, and shaping the next generation of surf lifesavers.

ASSESSOR
What is it?
Assessors are responsible for assessing participants once they have the skills and knowledge required, but cannot train and assess the same participants.
Why do it?
Becoming an assessor allows you to play a vital role in maintaining high standards across lifesaving by ensuring participants are truly ready to serve. It’s a chance to support quality training outcomes, uphold the integrity of our awards, and contribute your expertise to developing confident, capable lifesavers

FACILITATOR
What is it?
Facilitators can train or assess course participants. They can also train and assess the same participants for any one course if they are endorsed to do so by their club and/or branch.
Why do it?
Because you can support a seamless learning experience, help maintain high standards, and play a key role in developing skilled, confident lifesavers ready to make a difference on our beaches.
