TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set

Deliver training and contribute to assessment under supervision.

Trainers are responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality training that supports learners to develop the skills and knowledge within a volunteer or community-based environment.

Drawing on the competencies within the TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set, the role focuses on planning and facilitating training that meets both organisational and learner needs.

Key responsibilities of the trainer’s role include:

Preparing and delivering training sessions.
Creating inclusive and supportive learning environments that accommodate diverse learner needs.
Providing constructive feedback to support learner development and progression.
Maintaining accurate training records.

This role operates under supervision of a holder of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.

Entry requirements
There is no formal licensing, legislative or certification requirements that apply to this skill set at the time of publication.

SLSQ Entry Requirements: Applicants must:

Complete the SLSQ Enrolment Application Form, including the LLND Readiness Activity.

SLSQ Member: Applicants must in addition to the above be:

An active Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Club member
Minimum age 16
Hold and be proficient for current Surf Season in the award they want to deliver for a minimum of 12 months
As per SLSQ Direct Supervision Model, each Participant will need to have a Mentor who holds the current Training and Assessment qualification or relevant skill set. The Mentor will sign the SLSQ Mentorship agreement.

Course Delivery Options

This blended program includes:

Access to digital or online instruction/learning.
Face-to-face instruction/learning
An integration of the face-to-face and online learning work

Face-to-Face Delivery: Workshops are delivered in-house on our clients/Surf Life Saving sites.
Online Delivery: Learners will use our Learning Management System, aXcelerate, to access all learning materials and resources, including learning material, videos, and learning activities.

Learners will also complete all assessments through the platform, where their Assessor will mark and provide feedback on the assessment tasks.

Course Outline

TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who deliver training in volunteer organisation settings.
This skill set is for volunteers who deliver training to other volunteers in the workplace and those working in non-accredited delivery. This training is designed to support the essential skills of volunteer trainers, such as in emergency service organisations. The role may involve some coaching at individual or small group level.

Upon successful completion, participants will be issued a Statement if Attainment for TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set, which includes the following units of competencies:

BSBCMM411 Make presentations
TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction

Program Duration

Individuals will have 3 months to complete this Skill Set.
