Those who hold a qualification that enables registration as a secondary school teacher in any state or territory are able to deliver training in any VET context under supervision. These individuals are still required to hold the vocational competencies, current industry skills and current knowledge and skills in vocational teaching and learning.
You will be required to enrol into this course, upload your qualification and teacher registration in Module 2. Once your TAE Trainer has deemed you Competent you will receive the SLS Secondary School Teacher Award which allows you to train under supervision.
This trainer pathway is designed to acknowledge the existing Secondary School Teachers and their experience and qualifications to the pathway of becoming a trainer in the VET system.
Once you have obtained your SLS Secondary School Teacher Award and would like to assess you will need to complete your TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set. This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people to conduct assessment and operate without supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, in accordance with the Standards for RTOs.
This skill set consists of three units of competency. These units are as follows:
These units will be conducted as a face-to-face workshop over three weekend in 3 months to enhance the skills and knowledge of our members and continue to support and engage them in becoming trainers and assessors within their clubs.
