In addition to our State Championships, we also host other prestigious championship events that play a crucial role in the surf sports calendar. These competitions, though distinct from the State Championships, carry the same level of importance and adherence to the championship standards outlined in the surf sport manual. These events provide further opportunities for athletes to compete at a high level and contribute to the rich tradition of surf sports in Queensland and beyond.
A showcase of regional talent, this event brings together the best competitors from various branches across Queensland. The competition fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and rivalry, as branches go head-to-head in a variety of surf sport disciplines. From ocean races to beach sprints and relays, the QLD Interbranch Championships highlight the depth of talent across the state, with each event contributing to the overall points tally to determine the winning branch.
The North Australian Surf Life Saving Championships is one of Queensland’s major events, and is the largest surf sports event held outside of South-East Queensland. It is third only in size (number of competitors) behind the Queensland Surf Life Saving Championships and the Queensland Junior Surf Life Saving Championships.
The North Australian Surf Life Saving Championships is open to all Queensland Clubs and some interstate Clubs
