Surf Life Saving Queensland and Anaconda team up to keep beaches safe

September 6, 2024

Surf Life Saving Queensland today announced a new partnership with Anaconda, which will see the Anaconda brand on the sleeve of the iconic surf lifesaving patrol shirt on beaches across Queensland.

The new partnership sees the two Australian brands work together for the next three years to deliver safer beaches and to save lives on Queensland beaches.

In addition to patrol shirt branding, the partnership will bring Surf Life Saving merchandise exclusively to Anaconda stores across the country.

Merchandise including beach shelters, beach trolleys, beach chairs, towels and hats will be available in stores in late 2024.

Surf Life Saving Queensland Chief Executive Officer, Dave Whimpey said that the partnership will help build connections to local communities around the State.

“Surf Life Saving Queensland is pleased to have Anaconda’s support in keeping Queensland Beaches safe,” said Mr Whimpey.

“This new partnership with Anaconda will help us build strong connections with our community, by providing tangible products to help all Queenslanders feel like they are involved in our organisation.

“SLSQ are also thankful for Anaconda’s contribution towards our Queensland patrol shirts, which remain an important part of surf lifesaving. We look forward to working with the Anaconda team in the years ahead.”

Anaconda Chief Executive Officer, Chris Lude said the partnership is a perfect alignment between Anaconda’s mission to inspire, equip, and enable Australians to enjoy the great outdoors, and Surf Life Saving Queensland’s vision of ensuring zero preventable deaths in Queensland’s public waters.

“Anaconda is proud to partner with such an iconic Australian organisation, united by our shared commitment to ensuring that Australians can safely enjoy the outdoors for generations to come,” said Mr Lude.

“Through this partnership, we are excited to offer our customers a unique way to support their local Surf Lifesaving club while preparing for summer with an exclusive range of official SLS-branded water and beach products.

Proceeds from these product sales will go to SLSQ and subsequently be distributed across the wider Surf Life Saving Australia network, with allocations based on the store location where the product was purchased.

Queenslanders will see the Anaconda logo on surf lifesaving patrol shirts from the start of patrol season on Saturday 14 September 2024.
