About the Role:

The RTO Compliance Officer is responsible to ensure quality outcomes and compliance in all aspects of Education conducted by Surf Life Saving Queensland to both its commercial clients and Club Members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance of the RTO within the VET Quality Framework covering RTO standards, Australian Qualifications Framework, Fit and Proper Person Requirements, Financial Viability Risk Assessment, and Data Provision Requirements for all operations within the RTO’s scope.

• Conduct internal audits, quality assurance audits, and marketing reviews.

• Develop, review, and maintain compliance documentation, including policies and procedures.

• Oversee trainer qualification register and ensure all trainers and assessors hold and maintain currency in relevant qualifications and units of competency.

• Develop and maintain an online enrolment system for the Student Management System.

• Develop and maintain an e-learning platform for the Education division.

• All documentation, information and resources associated with Education website are current and updated once resources are approved.

• Coordinate the development of high-quality Education resources that meet NVR and organisational requirements.

• To ensure all reports are compiled and submitted as directed which includes AVETMISS, QFES Sustainability, Annual Report and other as requested.

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:


• Working with Children Blue Card – Essential.

• Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation.

• Willingness to adapt to changes in VET and ASQA regulations and ongoing professional development to remain current.

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 and willing to update).

• Experience using Student Management Systems (aXcelerate or similar).

• Embraces technology.


• Diploma of Training Design and Development.

• Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.

• Tertiary qualifications in Education field.
