Join our dedicated team at Surf Life Saving Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Branch, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional administrative support and strategic guidance to our Branch Committees, Office Bearers, and Clubs. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the vibrant community of surf lifesaving, supporting the coordination of events, and fostering the growth and success of our local surf clubs. This position is based in our Mooloolaba office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Administrative Support: Draft and distribute correspondence, including letters, agendas, and reports, on behalf of the Sunshine Coast Branch President and Officers.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee logistics for surf sports events, from planning to post-event administration.
  • Financial Administration: Support the Director of Finance & Planning with financial reporting and audit preparations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support, as well as maintain petty cash records.
  • Documentation Management: Ensure compliance with RTO standards and maintain the Sunshine Coast Regional Office Operations Manual.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Assist in compiling reports for SLSQ and SC Branch, and support Work Cover claim submissions.
  • General Administration: Handle front-of-house duties, answer incoming calls, and take minutes at Board meetings.

About You:

  • Current Working with Children Blue Card or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Background in surf lifesaving or similar community/volunteer-based activities, with experience working with volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide efficient and accurate support in administrative roles.
  • Proven experience in submitting clear and accurate administrative reports within set timeframes.
  • Strong computer literacy with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and time management.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet various deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also providing a high level of support.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of MYOB accounting software (highly desired).
  • Experience using SLSA’s Surfguard membership database (highly desired).
