The Role:

  • Lead vibrant educational sessions for all ages, using interactive demos and real-life scenarios to teach vital lifesaving skills—from spotting rips to CPR—helping communities stay safe in and around water.

  • Uphold top-tier program standards, constantly refreshing content with the latest safety research and community feedback to ensure every session is polished, accurate, and impactful.

About You:

  • Confident public speaker – you thrive in front of crowds, delivering surf-safety messages that stick.

  • People person – friendly, outgoing, and energised by interacting with all ages.

  • Self-starter + team player – you can take charge independently and also light up a group effort.

  • Quick thinker – when plans shift (weather, questions, tech), you pivot smoothly to keep sessions engaging.

  • Holder of a current QLD Working with Children Blue Card.

  • Solid foundation in first aid, CPR, public-safety outreach, and core SLSQ community programs.

  • Life-saving ready – current SLSQ member with a Bronze Medallion (surf rescue, CPR, first aid, radio comms) (desirable).
