Practical Beach Program
A practical beach program combines dry and water-based activities designed to be fun, interactive, and a great way for participants to increase their skills and confidence in the water and on the beach.
The program can be delivered to all school aged children, university students, adults and seniors. The activities can be modified to suit the participants abilities.
Program duration can range from three to six hours and be organised at a mutually agreed upon location.
Surf Life Saving Queensland has a COVID-19 Safe Industry Plan in place for all our programs.
Please contact our Community Awareness team for a quote and program proposal. The price depends on the number of people, water safety requirements and how long the program runs for.
This program can be funded for Primary Schools through the Australian Government Sporting Schools initiative.

“I just wanted to let you know that our lifesaving program at Raby Bay yesterday was fabulous. The children and staff enjoyed every moment of the day and the kids commented that it went way too quickly. They were engaged, physically active and learnt some essential beach and safety information to take with them over the summer holidays. The staff that I took with me were extremely impressed with the program and have already informed me that they would like it to be a yearly event. Thanks again.” – Julie
“Just wanted to give you a reflection of the YR 4 program from last week. All teachers were blown away by the professionalism and energy from the staff instructing the program. They felt the students were engaged and safe throughout the whole program. Instructors were engaging and articulated well so that the information was easy to receive and as a result the students had a blast and learnt a lot. The program was flexible and modified appropriately so that all students, including those with disabilities, they too could enjoy the activities. Thank you to you and your team for the effort that went into putting it together.” – Siane
