Club committee

Every Club operates under the leadership of an executive committee that is responsible for the overall management of the Club. These positions are elected annually at the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

branch committee

Surf Life Saving Queensland is divided into branches that oversee Clubs within their respective regions. Branch committees ensure lifesaving services, training, competitions, and governance are maintained at a regional level. Office bearers at the branch level support Club operations and represent the branch at state-level meetings.

Each Branch is led by dedicated volunteers who take on key roles to ensure smooth operations, effective governance, and member engagement. Each branch may have a slightly different structure based on their size, needs, and local requirements. It’s important for members to refer to their branch constitution, by-laws, or speak with the branch administrator or president for more specific details on their committee structure.

state committee

Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is the peak body for surf lifesaving in the state, ensuring the safety of Queensland beaches and communities. To guide lifesaving efforts, training, governance, and sport, SLSQ has established State Committees that bring together experienced members from across Queensland.

These committees play a crucial role in:

  • Developing policies and procedures for lifesaving operations
  • Improving training and education for members
  • Overseeing surf sports competitions and athlete pathways
  • Strengthening governance and financial accountability
  • Supporting member recruitment, retention, and welfare

By joining a State Committee, SLSQ members can influence key decisions, contribute their expertise, and help shape the future of surf lifesaving in Queensland.

slsa national committees

Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) is the national governing body for surf lifesaving, working to keep beaches safe and support lifesaving operations across the country. To help guide decision-making and drive innovation, SLSA has established several National Committees.

These committees bring together experienced members from different states to provide advice, develop policies, and improve lifesaving services. Whether it’s advancing rescue techniques, refining education programs, or growing surf sports, these committees play a crucial role in shaping the future of surf lifesaving in Australia.
