Description

This TAESS00028 Work Skill Instructor Skill Set Skill Set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who facilitate and conduct work-skill instruction whilst delivering nationally recognised training under supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

Pathways Information

These units provide credit towards TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this skill set at the time of publication. The skill set is a successor to TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer-Presenting Skill Set.

Skill Set Requirements

  • TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction
  • TAEPDD401 Work effectively in the VET sector
SLSQ Members - You will need already need to hold TAEDEL311 or TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction. 

Target Group

This skill set is for individuals who work under supervision to deliver training to others in the VET sector via a face-to-face and in-person delivery model.

Entry Requirements

  • Active Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Club members

  • Minimum age 16

  • Held Bronze Medallion for 12months

  • Each participant will need to be endorsed by their Club and gain approval from their club management committee/ board to undergo this training.

  • As per SLSQ Direct Supervision Model, each Participant will need to have a Mentor who holds the current Training and Assessment qualification or relevant skill set.  The Mentor will sign the SLSQ Mentorship agreement and a copy sent to Membership Training Manager.

  • Complete an LLN self-assessment 
  • Hold TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer Skill Set or TAESS00029 – Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set

Program Outcomes

By the end of this program, you will be able to: 
  • interpret VET policy requirements and frameworks and identify implications for your role as a trainer and assessor
  • identify and interpret organisational requirements and processes to carry out your role as a trainer and assessor in compliance with VET delivery and compliance framework so work effectively with diverse cohorts of vocational learners
  • identify the skills, knowledge and expertise you need to work effectively as a trainer and assessor in the VET sector and develop a plan to build and maintain these.

Individuals will have 3 months to complete this Skill Set.
