Description

This TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people to conduct assessment and operate without supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, in accordance with the Standards for RTOs.

Pathways Information

These units provide credit towards TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

This skill set meets the minimum education requirement for assessors operating without supervision in applicable VET legislation, frameworks and/or standards. The skill set is a successor to TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set.

  • TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEDES411 Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs

Target Group

This skill set is for individuals wishing to obtain the assessment competencies to assess according to VET system requirements.
Entry Requirements

  • Active Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Club members

  • Minimum age 18

  • Held Bronze Medallion for 12months

  • Each participant will need to be endorsed by their Club and gain approval from their club management committee/ board to undergo this training.

  • As per SLSQ Direct Supervision Model, each Participant will need to have a Mentor who holds the current Training and Assessment qualification or relevant skill set.  The Mentor will sign the SLSQ Mentorship agreement and a copy sent to Membership Training Manager.

  • Complete an LLN self-assessment

Program Outcomes

By the end of this program, you will be able to: 
  • to analyse and use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational learners’ skill and knowledge development needs​
  • participate in the validation of assessment tools, practices and judgements
  • plan, prepare for and conduct the competency-based assessment of candidates using nationally recognised training products and validated assessment tools

Program Duration

Individuals will have 9 months to complete this Skill Set.
