Mudjimba SLSC

Mudjimba SLSC was founded in 1996 from humble beginnings in a shed on a vacant block of land 150 metres from the beach.

The Mudjimba SLSC has a short but proud history thanks to a handful of dedicated members from a neighbouring club, with a passion to establish a much needed SLSC at Mudjimba. Many of these founding members are still active within our club today.

Today Mudjimba SLSC is a thriving family-based life saving club that recognises and promotes the true grassroots values of the iconic Australian identity of surf life saving.

The club now boasts a beachside clubhouse with great facilities for training emergency care and storage of rescue equipment.

The club has a growing nipper population and in the last five years have fostered an ever-increasing number of 14-17-year-old junior active members. We are proud to say that this small club is a central point in our small beachside community.

Mudjimba Beach

A long, relatively natural beach offering a range of facilities, including three resorts. Take care if swimming as it is dominated by rips.

Mudjimba Beach is 3km south of Marcoola, and is primarily a residential area. There is a large beachfront reserve that provides good parking and access to the beach. Coffeerock outcrops on the beach in front of the access track additional rips and currents, so care should be taken.

This is a long, potentially hazardous beach with persistent rips and strong currents. You should only swim in the surf at the patrolled Marcoola Beach, or under the supervision of the lifeguards at Coolum and Twin Waters resorts. Always check for rips before entering, stay on the attached inner bar and clear of the rip channels and deeper outer trough.
