Are you passionate about education and committed to making a difference? The Membership Training Support Officer plays a key role within the Education Division of SLSQ, providing critical support to the Membership Training network and collaborating with the Membership Training Manager to ensure the seamless delivery of training programs and services. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our training operations, helping to coordinate resources, streamline processes, and ensure that all members receive the support they need to succeed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Reporting: assist with reporting and documentation as required, including trends, compliance issues, and audits.
  • Training Records: maintain accurate records of training awards and accreditations for the Education Division.
  • Trainers, Assessors, and Facilitator (TAF) Database: manage the TAF database, ensuring efficient processing of proficiencies and inductions.
  • Award Processing: verify and process new TAF awards for members.
  • Course Paperwork: support processing of member education and lifeguard services training documents.
  • TAE Administration: assist with the administration of the TAE program for state and commercial needs.
  • Event Support: assist with state-based conferences or workshops as requested.
  • Committee Support: attend State Education Committee meetings and record minutes.
  • TOM Maintenance: keep the Training Operations Manual up to date with current procedures and standards.
  • RTO Support: collaborate with Education staff to support RTO systems and procedures.
  • Regional Support: provide education support to Regional Education staff and Lifeguard TAFs.
  • Communication: liaise with clubs and TAFs via emails, circulars, and social media.
  • Member Inquiries: address club-based queries and emails efficiently.
  • Course Reviews: assist in reviewing course-related issues and feedback.
  • Education Updates: assist in developing start and mid-season Education updates.

About You:

  • Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain).
  • Business Administration or similar qualification.
  • Previous administrative or support experience in a training or educational environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and after hours.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
  • Ability to find solutions that contribute to productive outcomes.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with aquatic rescue or surf lifesaving communities, including member operations and protocols (highly desirable).
  • Current SLS member with a Bronze Medallion (highly desirable).

  • Familiarity with databases like Surfguard, VETtrake, and aXcelerate (highly desirable).
  • Experience in maintaining online manuals (highly desirable).
