Supporter's Clubs recognised at the Clubs Queensland Awards
Five Supporter’s Clubs have been recognised at the 2021 Keno & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence.
After a difficult year for the industry, the awards aimed to highlight clubs’ successes as well as show the enormous contribution they make to their communities.
Palm Beach Surf Club were named Club of the Year (Intermediate).
They also received the Education Award in recognition of their work to educate the community regarding ocean and marine protection and sustainability.
Kurrawa Surf Club were awarded Best Surf Life Saving Supporters Club, followed by Dicky Beach Surf Club (2nd) and Coolum Surf Club (3rd).
The bistro at BMD Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Supporters Club was also recognised as Best Dining (200+).
Surf Life Saving Queensland CEO Dave Whimpey said it was great to see the clubs recognised for their outstanding work.
“It has been a difficult year for many of our Supporter’s Clubs and it is great to see these clubs awarded for their efforts,” he said.
“Congratulations to the staff, as well as all the members and guests who supported them over the past twelve months.”
