SLSQ has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated Lifesaving Operations Coordinator based at our Brisbane office. Possessing excellent attention to detail and the ability to adapt to our fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for the service delivery of Operations Support services across Queensland. With a vast mix of organising, coordinating, and liaising with our various volunteer and professional services, your work directly assists our members and staff in their mission of saving lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate SLSQ’s Operations Support Division
- Liaise with key stakeholders in the region around operations and challenges.
- Facilitate a continuous improvement and safety culture across all operations, ensuring effective communications and interoperability with other departments, organisations, and emergency service organisations.
About You:
- Understanding lifesaving or a similar community-based activity
- Sound level knowledge of Association policies and constitution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think strategically
- Ability to analyse and research
- Good financial and budget management skills
- Experience managing and motivating a team to meet and exceed goals
- Knowledge of the Surf Life Saving ‘products’
- Excellent negotiation and liaison skills
- Ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Working with Children Blue Card
- National Police Record Check
- Proof of Identity Check (points of identification and working rights)
- A demonstrable commitment to empowering and respecting children and young people.
- An advocate of child safety and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations
- Current Bronze Medallion / Certificate II in Public Water Safety
Ability to rapidly obtain:
- First Aid (AID)
- Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (AID)
Desirable:
- Cert IV in workplace training and assessment
- Recreational Water Craft operator’s license
