Patrol Member – Pain Management

Take your first aid skills to the next level with this important role administering pain relief as part of a beach patrol team.

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required by current members or employees of SLSA or its affiliated bodies to be permitted to carry and administer methoxy flurane (the green whistle).


Requirements

Candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age on the date of the final assessment
  • Hold the Apply (Senior) First Aid Certificate award
  • Hold the Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate award
  • Hold the following units of competency: HLTFA201A or B or HLTFA211A or HLTAID002: Provide basic emergency life support or; HLTFA301B or C or HLTFA311A: Apply First Aid HTLAID003: Provide First Aid.
