North Burleigh SLSC

North Burleigh SLSC is a friendly, family-oriented club with established programs in all aspects of surf sport.

The club sees the development of these surf competition skills as providing a pathway to further growth in the future and is continually enhancing its performance in these areas. As important as the competitive nature of the sport, however, is the training of club members in rescue skills and life saving awards.

Over the past five years members of North Burleigh SLSC have spent over 40,000 hours patrolling the beach, recording a beach attendance of 197,574 locals, interstate visitors and international tourists.

North Burleigh members patrolling the beach performed in excess of 800 first aid treatments and 6768 preventative rescue actions in the same period. Most importantly, 344 rescues were performed by our patrolling members which further upheld the club’s mantra of N. O. N. E (Not One Not Ever) lives lost on North Burleigh Beach.

North Burleigh Beach

North Burleigh Beach is a readily accessible beach backed by a continuous reserve, with two surf lifesaving clubs and lifeguard towers to provide added protection.

The North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club, founded in 1949, is located 300m south of South Nobby hill. It is situated in the reserve, with ramps leading down to the beach

The safest swimming is in the two patrolled areas at North Burleigh and Burleigh. There are usually six to eight rips along the beach, together with the permanent rips at each end, so use care if swimming and stay on the inner portion of the attached bar, clear of the rip channels and outer trough.
