READY.SET.RESCUE. is a Surf Life Saving initiative to help school kids stay active, healthy and learn how to stay safe at the beach.
The program combines dry and water based activities designed to be fun, interactive and a great way to educate students on the important aspects of sun, surf and water safety, whilst also increasing their skills and confidence in the water and on the beach. Important water safety information is integrated into activities.
The Australian Government initiative is designed to help schools to increase children’s participation in sport. Funding can be used for READY.SET.RESCUE lifesaving programs run by Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) throughout the state.
The funding can go towards two types of programs:
– Beach Program – (beach based) – this program is an excursion that can either be a half day to a full day (3 – 6 hours) at a beach/lagoon of your choice – Gold Coast (Rainbow Bay to Southport), Brisbane (South Bank, Raby Bay, Redcliffe) and Sunshine Coast (Bribie Island to Noosa).
– Pool Program – (pool based) – this program can be run at your school pool or a public pool of your choice and we can visit one day or over multiple weeks/days for 3 to 6 hours with 30 minute to 1 hour class rotations.
Prices are based on how many students, the number of hours the program runs for and how many staff are required to conduct the program.
If you are successful in obtaining funding for the program, there will be no out of pocket expenses to the school unless the quote is over the funding amount.
