The SLSQ Blue Card Screening Policy provides direction to all surf life saving clubs, branches and SLSQ on the procedures for complying with the requirements outlined in Part 6 of the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act (2000).
The Commission aims to create safe and supportive service environments where children and young people can participate in activities essential to their development and wellbeing by conducting employment screening to determine if a person is eligible to work or volunteer with children and young people.
All members, particularly administrators and position holders, should take the time to familiarise themselves with the policy and procedures in relation to screening compliance and review. Should you have any questions relating to your own screening requirements as a member or interested member with surf life saving in Queensland please contact your Club Administrator, or SLSQ on (07) 3846 8000
SLSQ’s policies and procedures in relation to blue card compliance and review are incorporated within the SLSQ Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy to meet Part 6 of the Commissions Act.
